Christmas Card Puzzles

Published by jlm004 at 12:41 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

Wondering what to do with all of those Christmas Cards you received this year?  This is an activity that my children and I have enjoyed year after year.

Items that you will need:

     Old Christmas Cards

     Scissors

     Pencil/Pen

     Plastic baggie or envelope

To start have your children choose a card that interests them.  Remove the front picture of the card and discard the rest.  Use the pencil to draw interlocking puzzle pieces on the back of the card.  Cut out the puzzle pieces.  Mix up the pieces and place them face up on the floor or on a table.  Have your child put the puzzle back together.

When your child is finished playing with the puzzle, place the pieces in a plastic baggie or an envelope to store for later.  If you want the pieces to last longer you can laminate them or cover them with packaging tape.

This is also a great activity to do with the cards that your child receives for birthdays or any other occasions.
